11/01/13 - Brilliant Brass Beauties
The America On Wheels Museum welcomes our latest exhibit, "Brilliant Brass Beauties", featuring American cars of the Brass Era of 1900 -1915. An incredible display of fourteen cars will be featured, ranging from the simplest horseless carriages to beautiful luxury cars built for the super-rich. The Brass Era owes its name to the glimmering brass radiator shells, lamps and body fittings that adorned these elegant machines, often polished to a brilliant shine. This was a time when burgeoning engineers experimented with all aspects of car design. Visitors to America On Wheels will experience a cross-section of the vast array of automobiles that were being produced during this period and the clever designs that were so common in these early days of motoring. The exhibit opens at America On Wheels November 1st through April 2014.
