Hogs and Hot Rods Rally At America On Wheels to Benefit
Dream Come True
Allentown, PA – Motorcycles and muscle cars will be on
display when members of the Blue Mountain Kodas Motorcycle
Club gather at America On Wheels for fun, food, music and
the opportunity to support Dream Come True.
The “Motorcycles and Car Fest ‘09” will be held from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20 and will include live
music by “3 To Breathe” along with food and leather vendors
plus “The Coal City Rollers,” an all-girls roller derby
team that will be signing autographs.
“This is a great club that looks for opportunities to promote
motorcycling and help other organizations at the same time,”
said AOW Executive Director Linda Merkel. “And this will
be a fun event that helps us not only to get the word out
about America On Wheels, but helps Dream Come True, as well.”
Dream Come True is a Lehigh Valley-based organization that
fulfills the wishes of children who are seriously, chronically
or terminally ill. Since its founding in 1984, the organization
has fulfilled more than 900 dreams for ill children and
their families.
The Blue Mountain Kodas is a family-oriented, drug and
alcohol-free motorcycle club that rides with a mission of
promoting a positive image of motorcyclists and clubs. In
addition, the members work to support their neighbors and
community.
“Our goal is to help America On Wheels as much as we can.
We hope to make this a yearly event and to make it better
each year so our grandchildren can see our modes of transportation,”
said Kodas President Gary Grauvogel. “It’s also important
to help other causes, such as Dream Come True.”
Other causes championed by the Blue Mountain Kodas include
“Friends of Animals” and community groups in the Poconos.
The club also delivers Christmas gifts to senior citizens
and serves as escorts for Santa Claus on the holidays.
“We like relaxing and going for a ride, whether it’s just
for coffee with friends or more than 1,000 miles to check
out new destinations,” Grauvogel said. “Our motto is “We
are known by the tracks we leave behind.”
The public is welcome to the even free of charget. A $5
donation is requested to display your motorcycle or automobile,
which includes admission to the museum. Show car and bike
passengers can tour the museum for $3 and all participants
will receive a 10 percent discount in the AOW gift shop.
Door prizes include a free one-year membership to the museum
and other gifts.
Additional donations to America On Wheels and Dream Come
True are welcome. For more information about the Blue Mountain
