America On Wheels is now open daily from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.  Our Changing Exhibit Gallery is showcasing MUSCLE CARS

Text Box: Volunteer Opportunities
Ah.........on some warm day in 2008 the doors of the America On Wheels Museum will be opened for the first time.  Both those who are curious and those with a passion for “things automotive” will move through the doors into the exhibits.  They will be enthralled by the objects, the displays, and the story being told.  They will have a meaningful experience because many people have volunteered their time to make the museum a reality and to further its role as a dynamic resource.
Right now we have before us a full slate of car shows and events where will we present the progress and promise of the museum, where we will show our plans, display pictures of our structure as it is being built, outline our programs, and invite people to participate in our project.
If you enjoy being among people who smile at objects made of steel and chrome, volunteering as an AOW representative at shows might be a perfect fit for you.
We also presently have a few opportunities for people who are willing to do clerical and physical jobs.  On occasion we need people to make copies, stuff envelopes, or move equipment.  As the year goes on, there will be many more times that we will need the help of strong backs and keen eyes as we move into new parts of the building and establish the displays.
At this time, I would encourage any of you who have a talent for teaching to consider being a docent or teacher when the museum opens, and if you have automotive knowledge that could translate into teaching units and materials, I would appreciate meeting with you.
We look forward to the day when we have greeters and teachers, mechanics and gift shop personnel, dusters and chrome polishers enjoying the excitement of the America on Wheels Museum.
